UNHCR spots with Khaled Hosseini Posted: Jun 11, 2007

Elliot has recently provided music for 2 PSA's
which can be seen on the web. The spots, produced
by Wildlight Productions, feature Khaled Hosseini,
author of the internationally best-selling novel
"The Kite Runner", and who is now an envoy for the
UN Refugee Agency. Earlier this year, Hosseini
visited UNHCR camps in eastern Chad where some
240,000 refugees from Darfur are sheltered. The trip
was the result of his desire to see first-hand one
of UNHCR’s most complex operations and to bring wider
attention to the Darfur crisis. You can see one of the
spots at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rBEztz0YDg

See the Light Feel the Heat re-released Posted: August 2007

“See the Light/Feel the Heat” was written and produced
by Elliot Sokolov & Jack Waldman, aka Air Force One. The record
was mixed by Arthur Baker, edited by the Latin Rascals, and
released on Streetwise Records in 1984. It was one of the first
records featuring an entirely sampled vocal (by President Ronald
Reagan). "See the Light/Feel the Heat" by Air Force One has been
re-released on 2 new compilation CDs, "ESSENTIAL HOUSE" (released
summer 2007) and "80's UNDERGROUND CLUB HITS" (released fall 2006)
by Moist Music. A college/alternative radio and club favorite for
years after its release, the original Streetwise Records 12 inch
vinyl single is now a collectors item, often available on various sites.
These re-releases comes more than 20 years after it's original 12 inch
single release on Streetwise Records. The re-release is the b-side (dub version) of the original 12 inch single.

Willow CD Available Posted: Apr 24, 2006

Willow, a "neo-retro" rock band featuring Elliot
on lead guitar, has a new CD available. The band
recorded two of Elliot's songs, "Restless Love" and
"Shine On Through" along with other original songs
by its members. You can hear excerpts from all of
the songs on the CD and order it at
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/willowrock or from the i-Tunes
music store website. You can hear 4 of the songs
completely at http://www.myspace.com/willowcd

A recently submitted review on the i-Tunes music store site says:
"This is a great indie album by a relatively unknown group in the NYC area. The sound is very classic rock, a bit of fusion between various styles that is reminiscent of the Jefferson Airplane/Starship at their mid-70s peak. The songs by E. Sokolov in particular are catchy and easy on the ears... The production is very confident and lush, the songs are infectious, and the whole package leaves you eager to know more about this band."
